CYCLING SADDLE CONCEPT

Surface-Driven Performance Saddle Study with Physical Prototype

Project Type
Self-initiated product development study

Focus
Saddle Proportions, Ergonomic Form Language, Surface Transitions, Athletic Silhouette, Prototype Validation

A performance saddle is defined as much by its surfaces as by its silhouette.

This self-initiated cycling saddle concept was developed as a surface-led product study exploring the balance between ergonomic suggestion, athletic proportion and refined visual detailing.

The project focused on creating a slim performance-oriented silhouette with controlled surface transitions, subtle graphic accents and a form language that feels technical without becoming overly aggressive. CAD development was used to refine the saddle volume, edge flow, curvature and overall stance.

A physical prototype was produced to evaluate the proportions, surface character and visual presence beyond the digital model, helping assess how the design reads as a real object rather than only a rendering.

Evaluating Surface and Proportion •

A physical prototype was used to evaluate the saddle’s proportions, surface transitions and visual stance beyond the digital model.
